We all know what it feels like to be ill. It is torturous, painful, saddening, pitiful and downright an inconvenience to our regularly scheduled programming. Yet, when we are not well, we are often able to get rest, to regroup and to appreciate the days when we were in great health. In other words, there is a sense of gratitude, even through the anguish of not feeling our best.

That gratitude should incorporate God’s hand in and on our lives. Our God is merciful. In His word, there are many examples where healing took place.

There were some people who, by the world’s standards, it looked bleak and gravely. Yet, God sent Jesus as a messenger and Savior and Jesus showed us the power of our Father. He healed the woman with the issue of blood (Matthew 9:20-22). He allowed a blind man to see (John 9:1-6). He raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11:38-44). Our God shows His faithfulness to us! God is an amazing provider. We need to lean into Him for support, even when we need healing. It is ok to admit and display weakness, for that is where God shows His strength (2 Corinthians 12:9)!

As this world is under the pressure of a pandemic, it is encouraging to know that our God is a healer! If He did it before, He can definitely do it again! We must trust in Him, lean on Him and sit with Him, coming in agreement with His promises for us as well as his love and mercy as shown in His word!

God has the healing, resurrecting power and is able to spread it to all of His children!

Scripture to Remember: James 5:14-15

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

Do you stop and think of all the liberties you have?

*Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of Press, Freedom of assembly, are just a few

Do you recognize that it costs nothing to give God praise? It should inspire you to boast of the goodness of the Lord. You have the space and opportunity to worship. Ultimately, you have the ability to make the decision to worship God, to pray to Him, and to lift Him up.

Added Bonus: God doesn’t demand you to worship Him. He waits patiently for you to come to Him, to trust Him fully, and to lean on Him for support.

Be reminded that God is worthy to be praised and you have the opportunity to praise Him. It certainly will be worth it to praise Him and to worship Him. Out of praise comes change, a shift to a better future where God is already expecting you.

The freedom to worship should allow for an appreciation of peace and appreciation for The Peacemaker.

Scripture to Remember:

Romans 8:6-7 New International Version (NIV)

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
