As a child, do you recall the sense of safety and care you felt when you were scared or hurt and were able to run to your mom or dad? They would reassure you that everything was going to be okay and they would hug you tight. The love of Jesus is similar, yet so much more!
Jesus is our rescuer! He came to earth to die for our sins. He rose, after three days, proving that death could not hold him back from loving us and extending a relationship to us that is like an anchor. Jesus saved us! Whenever we choose Jesus, be in good times or not so good times, He is saving us! He is shielding us from harm!
His love captures us, allowing us to find confidence in Him. Jesus went to Calvary to save us from sin. Thereby, we are already victorious! We have been covered by His sacrifice. We have the ability to commune with Jesus, coming to Him for advice, for peace, for love.
Jesus is our Savior! He heals us from the inside out! Our access to Jesus allows us unlimited favor, grace and mercy (remember John 3:16). It is even better than any feeling of security that man could give us! It is greater than a hug from mommy or daddy. The Savior clings to us, making a connection that lasts past our understanding. We should be glad to know that Jesus SAVES!
Meditate on this: Romans 10:9-10 (NIV)
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
